10 tracks: the soundtrack to our lives
Episode 20: Chad Scott
My guest today is DR CHAD SCOTT. Chad is a therapist, author, and lifelong Iron Ranger from northern Minnesota (USA). Over the past 25 years, he has worked in mental health and taught psychology, helping people build resilience and meaning in their lives. His personal journey has taken him through both triumph and hardship — including a liver transplant and the end of his marriage — experiences that shaped his perspective on healing, growth, and survival.
We talked about "Dark Tourism" a term that he refers to himself and these themes come alive in his new book, Beyond the Darkness, which blends memoir, travel writing, and history to explore how visiting sites of tragedy and resilience around the world can transform us.
